Don’t Hate, Donate welcomes the Chancellor and Government’s commitment to halve rough sleeping by 2022 and its ambition to end rough sleeping totally by 2027.
Peter Marcus, trustee, said: “We are looking forward to seeing the work of the government’s Homelessness Reduction Taskforce and learning about the cross-government strategy they will be producing.
“We are also excited to see the impact of the trials of Housing First in Manchester, Liverpool and the West Midlands. This £28 million pilot will take a homeless reduction scheme that has seen huge successes in Europe and America, and see if it will work in the United Kingdom.
“We also welcome the £20 million funding to support people at risk of homelessness to access private rented accommodation, and to help them keep up with their rent.”
Don’t Hate, Donate looks forward to seeing the effect these policies have on the UK and will continue to support the homeless community in the areas we work.
